Alton Leon Pemberton

Services for Alton Leon Pemberton, 79, of Ringling are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, March 11, 2019, at the Church on the Rock in Ringling with Reverend Ronnie Carroll officiating with Reverend Joe Taylor assisting. Interment will follow at the Ringling Memorial Cemetery.

Alton was born February 13, 1940, at Center Point, south of Ringling, to Leroy and Thelma Wade Pemberton. He went to be with his Lord and Savior March 7, 2019. Alton was raised and attended school at Center Point, south of Ringling until his 8th grade year, then he attended Ringling until his graduation. At the age of 22, Alton enlisted in the US Army. In 1960, he moved back to Ringling and drove a truck for Cortez Allen for several years. He worked for the Oklahoma State Highway Department, retiring in 2002. He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting, and his animals, Alton loved his family and spending time with them. He will be deeply missed.

Alton is preceded in death by his parents , brothers L.C. Pemberton, Jerry Don Pemberton, and Royce Pemberton, sisters Ivyneil Smith and Claudin Briscoe, and grandson L.T. Pemberton,

He is survived by his companion/wife Jan Palmer Pemberton of the home, sisters Serlda Hagger of Duncan, OK and Glenda Lester of Texas, brother Ray Pemberton of Lawton, OK, sons Kelen and Kevin Pemberton of Ringling, OK, daughters Shelley Pemberton and Amber of Velma, OK, Liz Kerley of Ringling, OK, Debra Baisdon of Wilson, OK, Jodie Cargile of Ringling, OK, and Dinah Palmer of Healdton, OK, grandchildren Lance, Chance, Samantha, Natasha, Taylor and Brooke, and three great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Church on the Rock in Ringling. You may send your condolences online to
