Alvis Lee "Deep Water" Roberts, 80, from Wilson went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2020. He passed peacefully in his sleep.
Deep Water was born October 31, 1939 in Cheek OK to Hoyt and Leala "Gaither" Roberts. He attended school in Wilson. He met the love of his life Alice Faye Hill in 1960 in Ardmore. They were married three years later in Gainesville, TX, making their home in Wilson, where he worked the oilfield for several years, then he ran the old Conoco Phillips Service Station. Later he had several rent houses. He loved playing dominoes and cards. He enjoyed every moment with his grandchildren. He and Faye fostered many children over the years and helped them in so many ways. They loved the children but due to their health they had to quit.
Deep Water is preceded in death by his parents and a brother J.L. Roberts.
Survivors include: his wife Faye of the home; his son and daughter-in-law Alvis Lee Jr. and Letamra Roberts of Shattuck, OK; granddaughters Autumn and Summer Roberts; and grandson Case Nichols also of Shattuck; brothers Ronnie and wife Mary Roberts, Jim and wife Betty Roberts and sister-in –law Arlene Roberts, all of Wilson; And many nieces and nephews.
