Bobbie Ray McCurry

Bobbie Ray McCurry was born May 5, 1926 in Oil City, Oklahoma to Jessie and Stella (Boren) McCurry.  He passed from this life Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at his home in Loco at the age of eighty-three. Bobbie served his country in United States Army in World War II.  He and Patsy Ruth Brezina were married June 13, 1949 in Henryetta, Texas. She preceded him in death on May 15, 2007.  Bobbie worked for Jackson Drilling for 10 years as a driller and ended his career in the oil field as a pumper for Paramore Oil  Company. He was a member of the Loco Baptist Church. He was also a fireman for the Loco Fire Department for many years.  He was one of the original organizers of the department back in the 1960's. 
 
He is survived by his son - Dale McCurry and wife Beverly of Loco, daughter - Debbie Chapman and husband W.O. of Loco, four grandchildren- Tammy McCurry, Amy Davis, D'Raye Rochell, and B. J. Chapman, six great grandchildren - Zachary Davis, Dylan Davis, Braylin Southerland, Kendie Rochell, Caison Chapman, and Karli Davis.
 
Bobbie was preceded in death by his wife Patsy, parents, one brother, one sister, and son - Eddie in January 2004

Funeral Service will be Friday, May 29, 2009 at 2:00PM at the Loco Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Southerland officiating.  Burial will be in the Loco Cemetery under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home in Healdton. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Dennard, Jeff Brezina, Darrell Curtis, Ron Sutton, Randy Cain, and B.J. Chapman.
