Delphia Irene King
Services for Delphia Irene King, 85 of Healdton will be 10:00 AM Monday April 5, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Healdton, with Bro. Raymond Bailey and Bro. Mike Johnston officiating. Burial will follow at Milo Cemetery, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
Delphia was born on April 14, 1924 in Roundup Oklahoma, near Milo to William David and Cora Belle “Goodwin” Slate. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 2, 2010 at her home in Healdton. Delphia lived most of her life in the Milo area until moving to Healdton in 1978. She married James King on April 4, 1988 making their home in Healdton the remainder of her life. Delphia was employed at Stromberg Carson retiring after 15 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Healdton.
Preceding her in death were her parents – one brother Wesley Slate – one sister and brother in law Dovie and Hubert Bromley – three grandchildren Shelley and Mitch Pierce – Kimberly Langley- one great grandchild Dillion Martin
Delphia is survived by her husband James T. King of the home – four daughters and sons in law Bobbie and Bo Bailey of Burkburnett, Tx. – Gayle and Don Langley of Milo, Ok. – Brenda and Kevin Waller of Crowder, Ok. – Valerie and Ken Hatley of Frisco, Tx. – one son Michael Pierce of Overbrook, Ok. – one stepdaughter Karen Mayberry of Frisco, Tx. – one special niece and her husband Barbara and James Ward of LongView, Tx – sixteen grandchildren – twenty nine great grandchildren- seven great great grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the mens adult three and four Sunday school class.
Family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m.
