Gary Wayne Freeman

Services for Gary Wayne Freeman, 76, of Wichita Falls, Texas. formerly of Wilson are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday April 1, 2017 at Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton with Sammy Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow at the Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.

Gary was born September 9, 1940 to Earl Leonard Freeman and Allie Melinda Freeman ne Authur in Ringling. He passed from this life on Monday March 27, 2017 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Gary graduated from Ringling High School in 1958. He attended Oklahoma Baptist University in 1959 and later joined the United States Air Force in 1959. In 1961 he had the privilege to be part of President John F. Kenney's honor guard. In his military career he was stationed in posts ranging from our nation's capitol, Washington, D.C., England, Vietnam, Germany (twice), Norway as well as posts in Texas, Michigan, and North Dakota. He was honorably discharged from USAF on July 31, 1979 after 20 years of service at the rank of Tech Sgt. After retiring from the military, he took various jobs ranging from apprentice welder for Lancers to security officer for Texas Instruments. He married Helen Marie Freeman ne Collins on March 15, 1961 in Crowell, TX., and she passed away on July 28, 1986 in Austin, TX., he then married Joy P. Freeman ne Gaither on October 2, 1999 in Ardmore, OK.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; Helen Marie Freeman, his son; Mark Wayne Freeman, and his daughter; Shelly Freeman, his brothers; Eddie Freeman and Larry Freeman, sister; Allene Luther.

He is survived by his eldest daughter; Patrizia Renee Freeman, and siblings; Earlene Goddard, Patsy Bush, and Ricky Freeman, stepson's; Sammy Stephenson and Charles Ricky Stephenson, as well as a passel of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends.

Gary Wayne Freeman will be missed by so many people. He loved his family and they loved him back fiercely. He was quick with a smile and a joke. He was a favorite father, brother, uncle and cousin.
