Kenneth Evan Smith

Graveside Service for Kenneth Evan Smith, 85, of Grady, Oklahoma, will be 9:00 A.M., Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Grady Cemetery with Reverend J.W. Ray officiating; services are under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.

Kenneth was born August 31, 1926, in Sugden, Oklahoma, to Joe Franklin and Mary Agnus Evans Smith, he departed this life on August 25, 2012, at his residence in Grady, Oklahoma. Kenneth was raised in the Grady, Altee and Ringling area; he then served during WWII in the U.S. Army, returning home to Ringling in 1944, where he went to work in the oil fields as a driller and rough neck all over Oklahoma and Texas. Returning to Grady, Oklahoma in 1966. He continued working in the oilfield until retiring in 1972. After retiring from the oilfield, Kenneth enjoyed ranch and farm work and taking care of his Aunt Jewell Evans. He did not have many hobbies, working was his hobby and that is where he spent most of his time. Kenneth loved his church and his church family where he was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ringling, Oklahoma. Kenneth was loved by many and is going to be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Dennis Smith, one aunt, Jewell Evans his best friend and companion, two sisters, Mary Jo Castle, Janice Sue Smith, four brothers, Don, Bobby Joe, Glen and Gwen Smith

He is survived by, one son, Timothy Evans Smith and wife Donna of Grady, Oklahoma, one daughter, Melissa Smith and husband Jason of Comanche, Oklahoma, four grandsons, Joshua Smith and wife Angie, Jacob Smith, Macky Smith and wife Shannon, and Cameron Smith, one granddaughter, Jennifer Smith, five Great Grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jewell, Jaycee, Joshua Cutter, and Grady Smith, one brother, Bill Smith of Ringling, Oklahoma, one sister, Wanda Green, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and numerous friends and family.

Pallbearers include: Joshua, Macky, Jacob Smith, and Lane Vaden
