Minnie Lee Pollard
Services for Minnie Lee Pollard, 90, of Duncan will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Healdton, with Brother Peter Wylie, officiating. Interment will be at Graham Cemetery in Graham, Oklahoma, under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home.
Minnie Lee Wylie was born at Meers, Oklahoma on October 5, 1921, to Hiram Victor and Barbara Mae (Pope) Wylie. She passed from this life to be with her Heavenly Father on August 7, 2012 in McAlester, Oklahoma. She grew up near Ratliff City, Oklahoma and in the south central part of Oklahoma. She married Arthur A. Pollard in the First Christian Church in Healdton, Oklahoma on August 22, 1941. She was a very hard worker all of her life whether it was driving a bus to take people to the doctor or welding on ships during WWI, she did it with pride. She was a charter member of Parkview Baptist Church in Duncan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur, her son, Joe, one sister Opal Pender, and brothers Grady, Borden, Henry, Marion "Sammy", Clovis, Earl and Burl Wylie.
She is survived by sisters, Fern Goodwin of Snowflake, Arizona, Wanda Taylor of Sparks, Nevada, daughters, Karen Lackey and her husband Dale of McAlester, Oklahoma and Dr. Vicki Harless and her husband Stacy of Pawnee, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Duane "Pete" Lackey of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Katrina Miller (Stephen) of McAlester, Oklahoma, Joseph McKeown (Kira) of Houston, Texas, Michael McKeown (Molly) of Norman, Oklahoma, and Jamie Waller (Derek) of Marlow, 10 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Minnie's special friends included, Joyce Whitehead, Bill and Viola Bowman, and Buddy and Betty Sparks.
Pallbearers include, Dale Lackey, Stacy Harless, Joseph McKeown, Michael McKeown, Cameron Mckeown, and Rick Pender. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
